Festival report Under 8’s Gosport

The tournament at Gosport was a tough one for the under 8s with only one team from each club and stormy winds making all the matches tricky.

The first two games were very tough and saw a nasty injury to Charlie who was hit in the face with the ball whilst making a typically speedy run on goal. He was very brave and was then missed by the whole team who send their thoughts and best wishes. The next game against Haslemere saw a big improvement and goals from Robert and Henry plus excellent defence from debutant Ernie and Olivia.

The good play carried on against Chichester where more excellent defence and some great passing was on display from Aaron and Hannah.

The final two games saw more great hockey with some better passing again and more goals from Robert and Henry. Some great tackling from Frankie and passing from Wilf added to the good all round performance.

Special mention should go to Peter Smith who’s tackling and long passing against Petersfield was brilliant and much admired by the opposition coaches.
