Haslemere Tournament Report

What a gorgeous day it was for the second to last tournament of the season hosted by Haslemere.  Made a change to enjoy the warmth of the sun rather than freezing on the pitch sideline. Thank you to all those mum’s that sacrificed their lie in to come and watch on Mother’s day – hope you spent the rest of the day being very spoilt!

Under 10’s Bears

Big thank you to Rich Barker for managing the team whilst Kevin umpired.  The team have  come long way since the beginning of the season, although they only won 1 game they played exceptionally well together. Well done to Lucia and Wilf for scoring two lovely goals and a special mention to Dominic who was goal keeper for making some great saves.

Under 10’s Alligators

Tough tournament for the Alligators – 2 wins, drew 2, lost 1.  The smaller pitch seemed to hinder our team and created a bunch effect with the players on both teams.  Well done to Charlie, Tristan and Nat for scoring some awesome goals.  Our defenders were really strong and kept the pressure on the opposition. Special mention to Jude and Nat for their strong passing and effort in keeping the game tight.

Under 8’s – by Tom Brixey

The under 8s had their toughest tournament this year with some tricky matches against City of Portsmouth and Petersfield. After three tough loses the team changed their tactics a little and set out to try harder and enjoy their last games. They really turned their tournament around and dominated their last two games against City of Portsmouth and Haslemere. Theo and Amy defended excellently and passed well. The midfield of Holly, Thomas and Charlotte did really well, Charlotte at last found her favourite position at right midfield. The attackers ran all day. Toby came close to scoring his first goal. Lilly and Finn tried really hard. Special mention goes to Bella Bowen who really got stuck in in only her second tournament. All mums should be really proud of their children this Mother’s Day for their strength of character and determination in not giving up and really improving throughout this tournament.

Training as usual on Sunday at Havant. See you there.
