The under 8s had one of their tougher series of matches of the season but were a real credit to hockey and Havant. All players should be congratulated for playing some nice passing hockey at times and really improving across their five games. The sportsmanship and team spirit was excellent with easily the best 3 cheers of all the teams coming from Havant! Special mention to Beatrice and Rebecca in their first ever festival for both really growing in confidence on the pitch. Well done to all for braving the matches against significantly bigger and older teams, especially the excellent battling and running from Finn, Kate and Noah. Sia as ever defended brilliantly and Theo passed strongly in midfield. Players player of the tournament was Toby for his excellent tackling. My player of the tournament was Georgie who got better every game and ran with the ball brilliantly – so much progress from her first festival! Eat your greens over half term, fingers crossed we all grow a foot – normal training next Sunday.
I’d like to enter two teams for the next festival on 4th March. Please text Tom on 07867419027 if you can’t play. If I hear nothing I’ll presume you’re playing. We need everyone available!!! Regards Tom
Wow what a chilly tournament it was on Sunday!!! We had one team for the under 10’s and what a battle we gave, we won 1 game, drew 3 and lost 1. All of the team gave 100%, we gained in confidence in each game learning from our mistakes – Leaving the goal open for the opposition to score an bunching. We had a little chat and a few giggles about this !
Charlie, George and Holly played well up front, passing well and scoring some lovely goals, Esme made some lovely attempts at scoring, with her strong will she got one in!! Wilf, Thomas, Jennifer and Martha battled hard in defense. Evie, Catalina and Ella played brilliantly midfield tackling well and making some great passes.
Well done to all !
I would like to enter two teams for the next festival on 4th March in Petersfield Please text me on 07789798977 if your child can or cannot play.
