A great start to the season for the 8s and Under at Haslemere … a couple of hard fought draws were followed by 6-0 and 5-0 victories with a lone defeat at at the end 1-0 to Petersfield to ruin an unbeaten tournament. Elsa and Danny were the stars but everyone made their own contribution. Well done to all that wore the Havant badge with pride.
Our club stars of the future had their first tournament at Haslemere Hockey club last Sunday morning. An enthusiastic team of 10 from the U10 squad had a mix of results – won some, lost some, drew some and never lost their team spirit. Our performance against the Fareham 1 team was particularly strong The team mascots came with us. Firstly, Bob the Monkey, named by and awarded to Grace T as Players Player of the Tournament. She put on the goal keeper kit for the second time only and did a brilliant job of keeping goal after goal out. Secondly, Geronimo the Guinea Pig, named by and awarded to Ben D as Coaches Player of the Tournament. He had taken on board the slap hit training and returned the ball up the pitch time and time again with pace and strength. Our goal scorers were Grace L, Matt W, Emily C and Poppy H. The rest of the team Harriet P, Tom G, Dan H and Seb L played a strong supporting role. Well done to everyone and thank you to the parents for cheering us on.
