Bronze 8s at the John Wright Tournament

It was a close run thing … 3 more goals would have turned Bronze to Gold as Winchester, City of Portsmouth and Havant all finished level on points with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss each. We lost Elsa for some of the tournament with a stick-to-the-head injury but it was great to see her back on the pitch in become our leading scorer in the tournament (and scored a few more from 1 yard outside the scoring zone). Jonas struck the ball as well as anyone across the 5 teams and Danny scored a lovely brace of goals. Well done to the whole squad and those who kept spirits up even when they were on the sideline. Thanks too to Imi for umpiring and for her brilliant support.

U8s teams on 3 March … two places at once!

We have 2 teams in different tournaments next week and have tried to get the balance right to be competitive in the tournaments whilst making logistics easy for parents with Under 10s who are also in the Fareham tournament. If we have got this wrong please comment / let a coach know. Anyone not playing this week we will try and get to play in Chichester tournament.

Both tournaments start at 10am with a meet at 9:20am at either Havant College or at Henry Cort Community College, Fareham (click here for a map).

John Wright Tournament … Proud to be Havant

On the back of 6 wins from 6 at the previous tournament, Havant under 8’s came up against stiffer competition at the John Wright tournament. With a squad of 9 includes 4 boys and 5 girls, the youngest squad in the tournament won 3 and lost 2 to finish a very credible 4th out of 16 teams. All the teams finishing above us only fielded boys.

Many thanks to Doug Taylor Howard Pollard and all the parents for their support

Well done to the following: Will Pastides, Hugh Jones, Grace Taylor, Gracie Atkins, Emily Curwood, Danny Budgen, Poppy Herbert, Elsa Hares, Ben Robinson
