Our first minis training of the 2013/14 season will be on Sunday 15th September at Havant College from 9am to 11am. Don’t forget your stick, gum-sheild and shin-pads, a smile and a willingness to be put through your paces. Or as I say to my son at the school gates, “have fun, work hard”.
As you know, there have been some changes to the coaching team over the summer. Dave Henderson stepped down from minis coaching at the end of the 2012/13 season after many years at the helm for the U8s. So this season we have Kevin Davies heading up the U8s with Glyn Knaresborough as our Senior Coach and heading up the U10s.
There have also been a couple of changes to the costs of playing hockey over the summer, as follows:
- We have agreed with the HHC Executive that we will no longer take match fees for the Minis Festivals, although there will still be match fees for competitions (In2Hockey and John Wright being the main ones for the minis).
- Membership fees, which were kept flat in 2012/13, have increased by circa £5 – see the letter that will have come out from the club.
I think that will do for now. Please remember to keep an eye on the blog as there will be other communications in the run up to the start of the season.
